Connecting Ohio’s classrooms to life sciences careers

There is a place for every student in Ohio’s life sciences industry

BioPathways is Ohio Life Sciences’ flagship education initiative. We provide free curriculum, teacher workshops, and industry access, connecting 6th–12th grade science teachers with Ohio's $15 billion life sciences industry.

The challenge we’re solving

  • Students learn mitosis but miss the connection to careers.
  • Teachers lack access to industry context.
  • Meanwhile, Ohio companies need talent and 68% of students wish they'd explored careers earlier.

What teachers are saying

“BioPathways PDs are consistently high quality. I always walk away with actual labs, materials, and ideas I can implement in class the following week.”

Shadayah Lawrence, Biotechnology Teacher

“It reinforced the importance of the procedures my students do in the lab. Not just in hospitals, but across biotechnology, engineering, and manufacturing.”

Danyell Terry, Biology Teacher

What’s at stake

Without this, students leave Ohio searching for opportunities that exist in their home state. They choose paths that don't match their strengths.

Ohio Life Sciences invests in BioPathways to keep talent here.

For industry partners

Your future workforce is in Ohio classrooms.

BioPathways is Ohio Life Sciences' flagship education initiative—the connector between what students learn today and careers that exist right now in Ohio. We provide free curriculum, teacher workshops, and industry access for 6th-12th grade science educators.

Funded through state grants and industry partnerships, BioPathways is built on a shared vision: preparing students for the next-generation workforce by equipping them with the tools, inspiration, and real-world insight to see their future.

Build a local talent pipeline

Students learn about careers with or without a four-year degree: manufacturing, quality control, lab operations.

Give students real industry exposure

Our curriculum teaches biotech skills students can use, such as CGMPs, SOPs, documentation, and technical accuracy.

Strengthen your brand

Teachers become long-term advocates for the industry.
